Anthony rolls his eyes when Gabriel offers his tentative thanks. He smiles and looks away. “It was an educational experience.” When he looks back at Gabriel, his smile is a little self-deprecating. He knows he is purposefully offering the intellectual answer; the truth is that he is glad to be here because Gabriel wants him to be, even if he won’t put it that way.
