Anthony offers Gabriel a smirk as he sits down next to him. He’s inclined to agree with Gabriel’s assessment, and he suspects that according to most people who gather in church (and God, if He exists), it is that very lack of repentance that is his greatest sin. Anthony has never quite seen the purpose of repentance—one’s behavior matters far more than asking for forgiveness from God or man.
